Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect to design, build, and modernize large-scale network mediation and ETL platforms that support billing, revenue assurance, analytics, and operational systems. The role focuses on distributed data processing, real-time streaming, cloud modernization, data quality, and scalable architecture design.
This position is based in Bellevue, Washington and is on-site. It is not available as a remote role.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance ETL and data mediation pipelines that collect, parse, transform, and deliver network data, including CDRs, usage records, and performance metrics, to downstream billing, revenue assurance, and analytics systems.
- Develop, deploy, and support real-time streaming applications using Apache Kafka and distributed data processing platforms.
- Build producers, consumers, stream-processing applications, and data aggregation services for high-volume data environments.
- Modernize legacy on-premise mediation and ETL workloads to cloud-based and next-generation platforms.
- Develop configuration-driven parsers and transformation frameworks capable of processing ASN.1, XML, CSV, ASCII, and other network data formats.
- Build ingestion and delivery solutions for transferring data between source systems, data lakes, external consumers, APIs, SFTP platforms, and analytical environments.
- Implement monitoring, auditing, and validation processes to ensure data completeness, accuracy, delivery, and operational reliability.
- Troubleshoot data quality issues, pipeline failures, system bottlenecks, and production incidents through root cause analysis.
- Maintain workflows, lookup tables, business rules, and operational configurations while automating deployment and support processes.
- Define architecture standards, migration strategies, scalability frameworks, resiliency models, Kafka topic design, and schema management practices.
- Lead technical design reviews, provide architectural guidance, and mentor engineering teams on coding standards, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, billing, revenue assurance, operations, and vendor teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture designs, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Demonstrate leadership, mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
